The fragility of life

Tell the ones you love that you love them. Enjoy the little things in life. Do what makes you happy and above all else honour yourself and believe that you are valuable and worth just as much as the person who is up on that pedestal that you put them on.
In an blink of an eye your world can change. In a blink of an eye disaster can strike and leave a huge footprint on your soul. What will you do with that footprint? Will you become a victim and sit in self pity; or will you get inspired and motivated? Do you realize that you’ve got to be happy in THIS moment – not tomorrow or yesterday – but THIS moment.
I am so grateful for my life. Yes my life, which is far from perfect, but it’s my life and I am blessed. I am blessed to be alive. I have survived many things in my time here on earth. Things that have made me who I am today and I believe that I am stronger because of all of those experiences.
Today my relationships with my family members are strong. My dear friends, at least those that I let in to be close to me, know me. I have nothing to hide from them. It’s ok to be me, it’s ok to be vulnerable – to be crazy – to be hurt – to be happy. It’s ok to be me.
This past weekend was an amazing weekend spent with family old and new. However, throughout those incredibly good times – in a blink of an eye – tragedy struck. There was nothing I could do to change it once it happened. How do I perceive the world and the experiences that happen in it? It just depends on which side of the crystal I choose to look through.
Right now – I’ll choose the bright side.
